I’m confused by the references to the Romans “foraging for corn” on Britannia. Wasn’t corn brought from the Americas at a much later date?

    • I addressed it in a later episode. I was using Corn in the European way rather than the American way. Corn during this period simply means Grain. Sorry for the confusion there. :)

      • Maize is the actual term for the domesticated food crop from the Americas. Corn has taken on a new meaning in vernacular English.
